There was probably a little bemusement among those in the SGV area football world when they heard that Los Altos had taken an early 14-7 lead at St. Francis.
The Conquerors entered Friday’s game with a 1-4 record and had been outscored by a combined margin of 149-83.
The Golden Knights, however, would outscore Los Altos, 38-6, the rest of the way, and claimed a 45-20 nonleague victory.
Max Garrison had TD runs of 1, 60 and 1 yards.
Garrison’s 60-yard TD in the first half gave SFHS a 15-14 advantage, and the boys from La Canada never trailed again.
Jack Jacobs hit Alejandro Ramirez on a 35-yard scoring strike, and the Golden Knights quarterback scored on a 1-yard run as well.
John Sanders scored his first career touchdown on a 13-yard run.
Los Altos’ longest play of the game was an 80-yard TD pass from David Castillo to Isaiah Mendoza, which gave the Conquerors a 14-7 lead. See... HERE
